Provision of guarantees for Venture
Capital investments from the Regional Guarantee Fund in FVG start-ups (final
beneficiaries, having registered and operational office in FVG).
Entities that can be guaranteed: Investors
undertaking venture capital investments in FVG start-ups. Investors must be
resident in Italy or in one of the EU member states or in states part of the
Agreement on the European Economic Area, and must have a production site or
branch in Italy.
Types of eligible investors:
- Professional
investors (financial intermediaries and holding companies) who
have been active for at least 5 years and have carried out at least 10 venture
capital transactions (equity or quasi-equity investments) in the last 10 years;
- Independent
private investors (business angels), whether natural or legal persons.
Eligible operations: venture
capital investment initiatives that contemplate the acquisition of a minority
stake in the share capital of the target start-up (whose Business Plan has been
positively evaluated in accordance with the terms of the Regulations).
Guarantee features:
1) Maximum
coverage of the guarantee:
The maximum coverage, in general, is 65%
of the venture capital investment amount. In the case of a guarantee to an
independent private investor, the maximum coverage is 50%. In case the final beneficiary (in
addition to being a startup) is also:
- An
innovative startup: the guarantee is raised to 70%;
- A
small innovative enterprise: the guarantee is raised to 75%.
2) Maximum guaranteed amount: maximum
€1 million per initiative and final beneficiary.
3) Duration of the guarantee: equal
to the duration of the venture capital investment, 3 to maximum 7 years.
